A sprawling and diverse site that was once home to the Ellwood Weldless Tube Co, founded by Ralph Stiefel. After his invention of the rotary piercing process, the Swiss born engineer's invention ultimately became the central nucleus for US Steel's National Tube Division at this property.
2 Iron Street, Canonsburg, PA 15217
2 Iron Street has a long storied history dating back to the late 19th century and well into the 20th century. It began its life in 1882 under the name of Canonsburg Iron Mill. It was the first industrial company in Canonsburg, PA, built in close proximity to the passenger rail station.
